    Pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

    Leah is a driven and compassionate Master’s student embarking on an enriching journey as a clinical intern at Leading Light Behavioral Health. With an unwavering passion for understanding the human mind and a strong desire to make a positive impact in the mental health field, Leah brings a wealth of academic knowledge and practical experience to her role.

    Leah holds a Master of Psychology degree and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College. She has specific interest in couples and family therapy, as well as an individual’s ability to endure and cope with trauma, anxiety, and depressive disorders. Throughout her academic journey, she has actively sought out understanding of the intricacies of human behavior, cognition, and emotional well-being. Leah has worked in different settings such as schools and community mental health, providing support to individuals with diverse psychological challenges.

    Leah uses an integrative approach, focusing on person-centered, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral approaches. She aims to empower each individual to learn skills that allow them to be in control, heal, and become who they want to be. Outside of her professional pursuits, Leah can be found exploring new places and spending time with friends and family. She enjoys finding new ways to stay active, most recently trying to become a runner. Leah embraces the words of Lauren Fogel Mersy, “Your present circumstance does not determine where you go; it merely determines where you start.”
