Janine

Janine is a Licensed Certified Social Worker who holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. As a compassionate, highly empathetic, strength-based therapist she believes in motivating and empowering clients through the healing process. Janine has eight years’ experience working with clients in both outpatient and inpatient settings helping adults and adolescents experiencing a range of challenges included trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, and dual diagnosis. She is passionate about implementing an individualized approach utilizing a variety of skills from evidenced-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing. Janine has a special interest in Neuroplasticity and the brain’s ability to rewire physical and mental pain to live a more fulfilled life. She has experience working with chronic pain clients and will be furthering her education by completing a certification training in October 2021 with the Pain Psychology Center in UCLA. Meeting the person where they are, focusing on strengths and empowerment are her core beliefs in partnership with her clients. She firmly believes the process of therapy is a discovery to move from where you are to where you want to be.
